To
conquer worry, fear and anxiety is an arduous task but not an
impossible one. The clutches of these three demons is very strong but
if one resolves to get out of them, those clutches would appear to be
a mere illusion as most of the worries and fears are
baseless.
Illusion; that is what today’s society revolves around. Capitalism and materialism have made it hard to distinguish between needs and wants. The newspapers, news channels and news portals are full of superfluous information that we would be better off without. The reason I mentioned capitalism and materialism in the same line is because the former promotes the latter. Greed has blinded the whole world. We prioritize things which should not even figure on our priority list. When there is so much trash that is being served and forced in our minds, how would we make sane decisions ? The cluttered mind is like a foggy telescope. The telescope has the potential to help you see the stars but the fog obliterates the view.
If properly analysed, we would find that most of our worries are baseless. This fact itself can help us dispel the darkness as simple steps in form of clear decisions would only make us move forward with assurance. And these clear decisions can be made only if greed is detached from need i.e. when we clearly know what is essential and what mere greed is. It is amusing to note that while on one hand the human race is ‘’ evolving and progressing’’, on the other hand it is also creating more problems for itself. If one cannot have peace of mind and a good quality of life, what good is such progress then ? There is nothing wrong in planning good things for your life, saving for future etc. but if that is done at the cost of sacrificing the present peace of mind then it’s pointless.
